Munch Museum

Dedicated to the famous Norwegian painter Edvard Munch, this museum holds the largest collection of his works, including the iconic painting 'The Scream'. The museum’s modern building and rotating exhibitions provide a deep dive into Munch’s life and artistic legacy. Did you know that there are more than one version of 'The Scream' with each version displayed for a maximum of 1 hour, on rotation, to limit the amount of light on the paintings.

Fjord Sightseeing Cruise

Of course the highlight of my trip to Oslo was going on a cruise around the fjords. The Oslofjord offers stunning natural scenery with islands, cliffs, and wildlife. A fjord cruise is a relaxing way to see the area from the water. Several companies offer tours ranging from short trips to full-day excursions, allowing you to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful views.

Embark the vessel, Vision of The Fjords, at Langkaia for a scenic 1.5hr fjord cruise. The voyage will take you past various historical landmarks & attractions. First you will have great views of Akershus fortress, Oslo City Hall, Aker Brygge, Tjuvolmen & the Astrup Fearnley museum. Next you can spot the FRAM Museum at Bygdøy before passing by the islet of Dyna with its cute lighthouse. The vessel navigates in and between the islands of the inner-Oslofjord; Nakkholmen, Lindøya, Gressholmen, Heggholmen & Bleikøya. On your way back to Langkaia you will see the modern Bjørvika skyline with highlights such as the Munch Museum & Oslo Opera House…
