Visit the sunny Algarve in the south of Portugal...

On the beaches of Albufeira
On the beaches of Albufeira

I have had the chance to stay in Vilamoura, Albufeira and Faro in the Algarve, in the South coast of Portugal. Although I was only in Vilamoura for a night due to work, I had more time to enjoy the more popular and party central place of Albufeira, which many people choose to go to…

The Benagil Caves:

Without a doubt, the highlight of the Algarve, the place that is on every single postcard, is the Benagil Caves: a remarkable seaside cave, reachable only by boat, known for a distinctive hole in its roof. The cave is known for its striking dome-shaped chamber and a large circular hole in the ceiling, which allows sunlight to illuminate the beach inside, featuring a small stretch of sand, creating a unique and beautiful environment - the cave is one of many fascinating rock formations and grottos along the Algarve's dramatic coastline. Sadly, before August 2024 you used to be able to stop off here and walk around the caves, relax, sunbathe, swim, whatever, but unfortunately this place has become a victim to too much tourist and now it is only permitted to go by boat, without getting out. It may take away some of the experience but still it is a site to visit nevertheless.

I recommend you try out Xride! This tour of approximately 2.5hrs provides perfect harmony and pleasure between dolphin searching in their natural habitat and the Algarve coast, rock formations and magnificent caves – also includes a brief stop for a swim, depending on weather conditions. The Algarve Coast offers those who visit its landscapes of extraordinary beauty, combined with a mild temperature and crystal clear waters. The contrast of colour between the rocky cliffs, the caves, the coastal flora and fauna and the sea, full of surprising landscapes, will make anyone marvel and wish that this journey would never end. The possibility of exploring a set of caves along our coast, between Albufeira Marina and Carvoeiro Beach, looking for and observing dolphins and other animals on this adventure and having the opportunity to dive next to one of our paradisiacal beaches makes this experience go from pleasant to unforgettable. Don’t miss out and book your ticket now for just €35 per person!

Whether you can swim here or not, whether you find dolphins or not, the Algarve is a place not to miss...
