Visiting the tulips at Keukenhof

Keukenhof is the place to enjoy over 7 million flowering tulips, daffodils and other bulb flowers in spring. The most beautiful spring garden in the world offers a unique scent and colour experience, exciting events, inspirational gardens, flower showers, activities for children and numerous works of art.

To get to Keukenhof, take the KeukenhofBuzz (Bus 852) just in front of RAI Amsterdam. This bus departs up to 10 times an hour and it takes approximately 35 minutes to get to Keukenhof. You can buy a combined ticket, the entry into Keukenhof itself + a round trip journey to get there and back, for just €37! Once a mere kitchen garden filled with vegetables and herbs, the Keukenhof - smack dab in the middle of South Holland’s tulip region - now has the distinction of being the world’s largest flower garden, hosting some 800,000 visitors per year. Walk through the 15km of footpaths and 32 hectares of gardens, where millions of bulbs are planted each year. Tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, and other spring bulbs of a variety of vibrant colours carpet the grounds. Stroll through the English landscape garden, the Japanese country garden, and the historical garden. Take in the flower sculpture, based on an annual theme.

Without tulips and daffodils, Keukenhof would look a lot less colourful! The historical gardens tells you about 500 years worth of history; from the arrival of the first species to the Netherlands, to the crossing of existing species to create new colours, lengths and shapes.

Take a 45 minute whisper boat trip or rent a bicycle and explore through the flowering bulb fields surrounding Keukenhof. Buy your tickets for just €10 per person.

There are numerous pavilions to explore such as: Oranje Nassau, Juliana, Irene, Wilhelmina, Willem-Alexander and Beatrix, offering different flowers shows every week, including orchids and anthuriums.
